The place was Coach Thad Matta’s house. The date was March 4, 2005. It was two days before Ohio State was to take on the undefeated and number-one team in the nation, the Illinois Fighting Illini. No one gave the Buckeyes a chance. But it was in Coach Matta’s house on that day that the coaches knew they needed to have a winning mindset. And then two days later, late in the game, the Buckeyes had a decision. To go for the tie or to go for the win… the rest as they say is history.
